The PGA Tour remains in Ohio for the second straight week at Muirfield Village Golf Club, this time for the prestigious Memorial Tournament, hosted by Jack Nicklaus. Last week Collin Morikawa defeated Justin Thomas in a playoff at this same venue at the Workday Charity Open.

The field is absolutely stacked at the Memorial Tournament, with 27 of the top 30 players in the world competing with Justin Thomas the slight favorite to take home his 13th career PGA Tour title after very nearly doing so last weekend.

In the last five years at this tournament, there have been three solid winners like defending champion Patrick Cantlay, Bryson DeChambeau and Jason Dufner. However, the two years previous years journeymen William McGirt and David Lingmerth notched their first PGA Tour title here, proving darkhorses can prevail at this course.

Daniel Berger Has Been Red Hot

Daniel Berger came out of the PGA Tour hiatus on a mission, snagging the Charles Schwab Challenge title and then very nearly doing the same the following week at the RBC Heritage, where he settled for a T-3rd result.

Even before the layoff, Berger was putting together solid results, going T-4, T-5 and T-9 in his three previous events, marking five straight top-10’s overall, and four straight top-5 finishes.

Against a strong field, it won’t be quite so easy for Berger, but believe in him to keep the good times rolling.

Pick: Top 5 (+850), Top 10 (+430), Top 20 (+185)

Justin Rose Loves This Tournament

Justin Rose’s missed cut last week at Muirfield Village was a head scratcher, given his success at this track in his career. He has a victory in 2010 plus a pair of runner-ups in 2008 and 2015 (in a playoff) to go along with seven all-time top-10’s at this venue.

He did miss the cut by a whopping twelve strokes last week, which definitely gives some pause when considering him this go around. However, he’s a professional through and through and it’d be stunning to see him do so poorly again at a place that he’s been excellent at.

Pick: Top 10 (+470), Top 20 (+220)

Kevin Streelman a Great Sleeper at Muirfield

Kevin Streelman is a bit of an enigma, given that he was a runner-up at Pebble Beach earlier in the year, then finished 47th and had three missed cuts immediately after that.

He then posted another second place result at the Travelers Championship and was T-7th at this venue last weekend.

Since 2015, Streelman has been money around Muirfield Village, going T-18, T-8, T-13, T-44 and fourth last year.

While a top-five result is probably too much to ask for, sneaking in the top-ten is definitely feasible.

Pick: Top 10 (+600), Top 20 (+250)

Poulter and Straka Worth Considering

Ian Poulter was dynamite on the greens just last week at Muirfield Village, ranking second in strokes gained: putting en route to a tie for fifth in his first trip to this track in eleven years.

As has been the case at many Ryder Cups, Poulter is immensely dangerous when he gets the putter rolling.

Pick: Top 10 (+750), Top 20 (+380)

Sepp Straka, meanwhile, has very quietly gone under the radar in his last two events, a tie for eight at the Rocket Mortgage Classic and a T-14 showing last week at the Workday Charity Open.

He very easily could sneak in yet another top-20 result and barely be noticed among all the heavy hitters who are playing this week.

Pick: Top 20 (+600)
