New Jersey gamblers now have another stand-alone mobile option for online gaming. DraftKings Casino launched its mobile casino app on June 23.
While DraftKings Casino has been available to NJ players since 2018, it was always paired with the DraftKings Sportsbook app. With this launch, DraftKings Casino players in the Garden State now have separate access but not separate accounts.
The DFS, sports betting and casino sites will continue to feature linked accounts with a shared wallet. For users, the only difference is the need to download a new app.
Why now for a DraftKings Casino app in NJ?
First of all, the DraftKings app can be found only on iOS at the moment. And the app will feature all of the table games and slot games that players are used to plus DraftKings-exclusive games.
According to a press release, it was the popularity of these DraftKings-specific games that were the catalyst for making the standalone casino app.
A study completed by DraftKings found that “70 percent of new DraftKings Casino customers place their first bet on DraftKings-branded games,” according to the press release.
It is also clear from watching the online gambling revenue climb since NJ sports betting launched in 2018 that cross-selling between the sportsbook and the casino is very high.
DraftKings Casino grew from just a few games to pass the time while waiting for a sports event to end to a huge part of the product.
The press release goes on to say that it’s that knowledge that spurred the launch:
“This standalone version is the result of extensive research and preparation as it relates to a broadened customer base.”
Games on the DraftKings Casino app
Golden Nugget’s app features hundreds of games after being on the market for six-plus years. DraftKings casino app will be offering a limited amount of games for users at launch.
You can expect the new NJ casino app to constantly roll out new games over time though.
DraftKings users will have 24/7 access to DraftKings’ Live Studio, which offers players table games with live dealer casino action based out of Atlantic City’s Hard Rock Casino.
The app will also offer games from popular third-party providers including IGT, Scientific Games and Slingo.
“We are thrilled to break new ground for DraftKings in the gaming space today with the launch of our DraftKings Casino app, the Company’s first perennial product that operates year-round irrespective of the annual sports schedules,” said Jason March, DraftKings’ vice president of gaming.
“Following our debut in the Garden State, we look forward to continued innovation, nationwide expansion where regulations allow, and to further positioning DraftKings as an all-inclusive gaming and entertainment experience.”

DraftKings and New Jersey gambling go hand in hand
DraftKings first planted its flag in the Garden State back in 2018. It opened up the first online sportsbook and the first of its kind outside Nevada.
Partnering with Resorts Casino, DraftKings has helped Resorts’ online revenue steadily increase for two years.
The addition of the new app now makes 20+ different mobile casino apps available to New Jersey gamblers. Players have multiple options while they wait for casinos to reopen.
These apps are the driving force behind the surge of online gambling in New Jersey since casinos were shut down in mid-March, bringing in $169.5 million during that time period.
Now DraftKings can count its name (officially) among them.
