Horse Racing Picks by Stogie for Wednesday, July 8, 2020

Keeneland Race 6

  • #2 Greyes Creek – faces winners for the first time today after breaking Maiden easily by 3 on the turf at Churchill, Colt’s previous Maiden Special Weight efforts were solid against some good animals, many went on to win in Graded Stakes company, Chad Brown has this Kentucky Bred going well right now, I like the one’s chances today, Top Pick
  • #6 Lake Nakuru- ran a good second at this level last out after a long layoff ,  Turf speed figure was a bit on the low side, but I can see this Gelding moving forward off that last race, Major Player
  • #9 Andesite- definitely has a class edge versus these , however this Brad Cox trained Colt hasn’t been seen since November, when Colt finished 10th beaten by only 3 in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf, I think he might need a race plus he takes on older in here, much to ask, use with Caution
  • #13 Bee Catcher- I hate the post but don’t ever count out Graham Motion and Joel Rosario, use in deep exotics

Selections 2-6-9-13

Indiana Grand Race Course Race 10 Indiana Grand Oaks Grade 3

  • #4 Impeccable Style- Lightly Raced runner by Uncle Mo, I’m all over this Filly and I hope the 10-1 morning line holds up, this Filly’s numbers have steadily increasing and I like that Veteran local Jockey Deshawn Parker, who knows this course well,  is in the irons, these youngsters by Uncle Mo move forward rather quickly, I expect a big effort today, Win Contender
  • #6 Shedaresthedevil- consistent runner comes off a 6 length score last out at Churchill, this Brad Cox runner is 2-4 at the distance and sports a recent 1/20 bullet, Win Contender
  • #5 Miss T Too- appears to be the true speed in here and I like the fact that Filly gets in rather light 115 lbs, this gal goes sprint to route today and will have to carry her speed a mile and a sixteenth ,she did go gate to wire at a mile three races back, could take them a long way, Live Longshot
  • #7 Aurelia Garland – could make some noise, third start off the layoff

Selections 4-6-5-7

Indiana Grand Race Course Race 11 Indiana Derby Grade 3

  • #8 Major Fed- had a excuse last out in the G3 Matt Win , was caught 7 wide that day and was a non- factor, if you forgive that effort, this Colt has run well in Graded company, on paper the pace appears to be quick and  this Foley Trained Colt will benefit, look for this one to come flying deep stretch, Top Pick
  • #5 Shared Sense- makes third start of the layoff for Trainer Brad Cox , who hits at over 30% , third off the bench, runs for the first time at a mile and an eighth, but Pedigree does suggest that won’t be an issue, still you never know for sure how they’ll handle the distance, Win Contender
  • #9 Winning Impression- ran an even 4 th in the Arkansas Derby for Trainer Dallas Stewart, Stewart gave his Gelding a much needed 2 month rest and work tab looks good, Kentucky Bred does have good tactical speed and should be in position under the guidance of Jockey James Graham, Major Player
