After months of being closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, 36 of Rank Group’s Mecca Bingo halls in the UK will reopen their doors on July 4th after the government gave them the okay to do so.
36 of the halls will be reopening across the UK, with safety measures implemented to keep players at lower risk of contracting the virus while playing. The halls opening will be located throughout England, with Scotland and Wales locations remaining shuttered until their respective governments give them permission to open.
The company will allow punters to pre-book spots and pre-order food and drinks in order to secure spots, as participation will be restricted for some time.
Mecca Bingo’s Jonathon Swaine commented on the opening, noting: “We want to reassure the Mecca Bingo community that we are working together to take every precaution necessary to create a safe environment in which to play the nation’s favourite game.
“We’re also investing in new entertainment formats in our clubs, to give everyone even better experiences. We are excited to reopen our doors, welcome back our communities and hear ‘House’ called once again.”
