Sunday’s Big Machine Hand Sanitizer 400 will take place on Sunday at the historical Indianapolis Motor Speedway. “The Brickyard” has normally hosted the NASCAR Series in September, but this year’s race will take place in the heat of July. The drivers really want to win here, so they get their chance to “kiss the bricks”.
When coming up with a strategy to form your DFS lineup, past success should play a big role. 21 of the 26 races that have been held at Indy have been won by past series champions. Winning and experience come in big here.
Let’s take a look at some potential DFS picks for this Sunday’s Big Machine Hand Sanitizer 400.
Kevin Harvick – $11,000
Harvick has been worth every dollar of the high price tag. With three wins on the season, and his success at Indy, Harvick is a great pick. He won this event last year, and has won at Indy twice. In his last five trips to the Brickyard, he hasn’t finished lower than sixth. Look for Harvick to be a contender on Sunday.
Brad Keselowski – $9,800
With a win here in 2018, and a runner-up finish in 2017, Keselowski knows how to race here. In four of his last five races here, he has led at least 10 laps. He has had a good 2020 season, and he would love to take home his second checkered flag from Indy.
Joey Logano – $9,200
Moving to Team Penske has helped Logano race better at Indy. Although he has yet to take the checkered flag, he has four top fives, seven top 10’s, and he hasn’t finished lower than 15th. Could this be the weekend that he finally breaks through at the Brickyard?
Jimmie Johnson – $8,500
Johnson has run well at Indianapolis throughout his career, so he knows how to race on this track. Johnson hasn’t run well over his last three races, but he would love to take home a win at the Brickyard. His experience and knowledge of the track could pay off big this weekend.
Kurt Busch – $7,500
Starting position has been a big factor when racing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Busch will be starting on the outside pole position on Sunday. Busch has a ton of experience here, so combine that with the great starting spot, and it could be a good day for Busch.
Ryan Newman – $5,900
Newman has a nice history here. With 20 starts at Indy under his belt, he has a victory, six top 10’s, and three top fives. He has finished 12th or better in eight of his last nine starts at the Brickyard. Newman is a great value pick for Sunday’s race.
