- Bryson DeChambeau (+650 odds) and Webb Simpson (+1100 odds) will both look to continue their great form since the return of golf.
DETROIT – The return of the PGA Tour has been nothing short of a blessing over the last three weeks, with tremendous star-studded tournaments keeping the sports world satisfied throughout the weekend.
This week, the Tour heads to Michigan for the second year of the Rocket Mortgage Classic, from Detroit Golf Club in Detroit.
While the first three tournaments since the hiatus have been packed full of major-level talent, this week tones the high-profile guest list down a bit as some of the bigger players take some rest heading into July.
That doesn’t mean there won’t be a full slate of competition this weekend as some of the hottest golfers will look to continue their momentum.

Since this is just the second year of the Rocket Mortgage Classic, there isn’t much for golf bettors to work with in terms of prior performance.
Last year, the field tore apart the Donald Ross North course, seeing a total of 45 players finish double-digits under par. Now, the field heads to an equally kind course in the Detroit Golf Club.
The strategy for this week will be based on current performance and momentum since the hiatus.
The Rocket Mortgage Classic features a far less dangerous field than weeks prior, which might allow for some of the top performers who are making the trip to rise through the pack.
Bryson DeChambeau (+650)
For those unaware, Bryson DeChambeau has been nearly unstoppable over the last month since returning to the course due to packing on some considerable muscle during the hiatus.
He is now the second-longest off the tee across the entire tour and has played sensational golf over the last month.
DeChambeau has scored three-straight top-ten finishes since golf returned to play, which goes up to six-straight when counting the tournaments before the break.
Despite some lackluster putting, DeChambeau has found himself in championship contention every single week over the last month and has no signs of stopping. Even as the favorite at legal sportsbooks, this week could be the week DeChambeau gets it done against a weaker field.
Sungjae Im (+2000)
Sungjae Im has been underperforming the last two weeks after a dominant run in early 2020 saw him rise to the top of the FedEx Cup standings in points.
Im now sits in third, but had yet to play up to his potential since returning from hiatus.
This week in Michigan posts the perfect stage for Sungjae to get back to his winning ways and prove that he is a name to worried about on the leaderboard.
Jason Day (+5000)
Former world No. 1 and PGA Championship winner Jason Day has not looked like himself as of late.
Day has been struggling so far in 2020 and had yet to make much of an appearance in the weekend rounds or on the leaderboards so far this season.
As the game of golf goes, however, a good player only needs one good week of golf to find himself, and this week at the Rocket Mortgage Classic could be that opportunity for Day.
With a course that suits his style of play and a field much less talented than himself, do not be surprised to see Day on the final round leaderboard in Detroit.
