Agreement with Caesars puts Unibet into Indiana. Already with legal online sportsbooks operating in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, European gambling giant Unibet is poised to begin operations in Indiana.
In February, Unibet owners the Kindred Group entered into a 10-year partnership agreement in the Hoosier State with Caesars. The agreement enabled the Kindred Group, on behalf of Unibet, to apply for online sports betting licenses in Indiana and Iowa through Caesars’ land-based properties in both states. The pact also covers online casino gambling, should that entity eventually be legalized in Indiana. Unibet’s latest quarterly report indicated to investors that the planned launch in Indiana of their online sports betting operation is targeting the third quarter of 2020. As well, both sides noted that the deal in place could lead to further Unibet-Caesars partnerships in other states as sports betting continues to expand throughout the USA.
An international gambling power operating in more than 100 countries and serving in excess of 11 million customers, Unibet was founded in 1997 by Anders Ström. Unibet launched its first online website in 1999. They added live betting in 2003 and introduced their mobile site a year later.
