Verified Chris Moneymaker Returns to Poker Twitter

The verified Chris Moneymaker Twitter account is “back…” following a series of hacks that resulted in the temporary shut down of all “blue check mark” Twitter accounts.

2003 World Series of Poker Main Event champion and 2019 Poker Hall of Fame inductee Chris Moneymaker became one of the very first “blue check mark” account holders to appear on #PokerTwitter Wednesday after the social media platform halted contributions from its most influential posters.

The Twitter verified account shutdown was “in an effort to prevent more hacked accounts from posting crypto scams,” according to engadget writer Nicole Lee, who informed readers Wednesday that “verified Twitter accounts typically include not just celebrities and politicians, but also media outlets, brands, emergency services, public transit alert systems, official government agencies and more.

Fortunately, the Twitter decision appears to have only interrupted verified account holders’ ability to post for a short period on Wednesday — and did not impact previous #PokerTwitter communications that fans have come to appreciate from “blue check mark” users of the social media platform.
