Watford vs Leicester Prediction [Sat 20 June] Analysis
12:30 Kick-Off on 20th June
This can hardly be described as a vintage season for Watford, who looked sure to be relegated after a terrible start saw them sack two managers. But Nigel Pearson has hauled them out of the bottom three and it’s their home form that has given them a genuine chance to survive the dreaded drop.
Before the Premier League suspension was suspended, Watford’s last six home games included wins over Liverpool (3-0), Wolves (2-1), Aston Villa (3-0), and Manchester United 2-0, whilst they also drew 0-0 with Tottenham. They’re only defeat came against the equally revitalized Everton, when they somehow managed to blow a 2-0 lead.
By contrast, Leicester’s away results before the break weren’t great. Their last three away results were a 1-0 defeat at Norwich, a 0-0 at Wolves, and a 2-1 defeat at Burnley.
Watford also have a good record at Leicester at home in the Premier League, winning three, drawing one, and losing one of their five matches. That includes winning their last two matches against Leicester at Vicarage Road 2-1, in March 2019 and December 2017.
That all suggests that Watford look a big price to beat Leicester on Saturday.
